4 Rewarding Hobbies to Start

The Christian Lifestyle is not as limiting as many people think, as there are lots of activities that we can engage in that brings glory to God and that will also help in our overall growth and development. One such thing is a hobby. A hobby is defined as any activity that can be done for leisure or pleasure, and we believe this can help to enrich your overall experience of life itself. Hobbies are beneficial as they allow you to release stress and relax as it puts your mind at ease. Hobbies are also literal ways to explore the talents and creative abilities that God has blessed you with. Let's explore some ideas.

If you are not sure where to start when deciding on a hobby, here are 4 fun hobbies that you can try to see what you like:

1. Landscape or Nature Photography

This is pretty simple and doesn’t necessarily require an expensive professional camera or phone. Landscape and Nature Photography allows you to document the beauty of God’s wonderful creations, as well as for persons who love nature it provides you with the wonderful opportunity of getting outdoors more. You can choose to share your photos on your social media platforms or you can even print them for interested family or friends.

2. Arts & Crafts

There is literally a world of options in this category such as Pottery, Painting, Embroidery, Crocheting, Drawing, Woodwork and so much more. This is the perfect way to tap back into those God-giving talents that we may have put away as we got older. And remember it doesn't have to be perfect. It can also be used in relieving stress or even as a tool when you may be feeling down.

3. Reading

While this is not limited to Christian Literature we should still be mindful of what we read especially if it is not in alignment with the word of God. The truth is what we read will impact our thoughts over time. There are also lots of options in this area too even if you do choose the Christian Literature route. Also if you are not a big fan of reading physical books you can always try an audio version.

4. Gardening

Gardening is basically taking care of God’s gift of nature and it doesn’t have to be widescale or expensive either. You can start with a few plants, seeds, or seedlings and then see where it takes you.

Let us know in comments which of these suggestions you will try and also how it turned out for you.
