Stay Put & Wait For The Move of the Lord

"You're like a child fighting the hold of their parent who is protecting them from danger. Stop trying to ruffle yourself out of God's hand" -Ms. Dorret. Brown

There is always a time in our journey when running seems like the way to go; when times get too difficult, when we struggle to function in a particular environment or with a particular person around, when the call of God on our lives causes continuous, seemingly unbearable attacks from the enemy, when things aren't going the way we want them to go and of course when God chooses to test us. Why? because facing difficulties head on isn't always our first instinct or response.

In my own difficulties and battles, I began crying and I said to the Lord "God, I'm so tired of this. I'm tired of crying and existing in discomfort and emotional agony, I'm tired of looking okay and not being okay, I'm tired of this cycle because in every season of my life since I was a little girl I have cried. Lord I am tired!"

My solution was running so I began looking for another place to be because where I am is no longer feasible for me or serving me and I remember just having a conversation with my neighbor, Ms. Brown, and she said to me "you don't know why the Lord placed you here so you need to stay put! Settle yourself in the hands of God and allow Him to work"

God is always working and doing great and mighty things but sometimes we miss the opportunity to be a part of His move because we are too busy trying to escape what He was going to use to bring Him glory just because it's disturbing or uncomfortable.

Elijah was a mighty man of God, he spoke by the authority of God and there was no rain, he called down fire from heaven to consume the false gods thus proving that there is only one true and living God and yet Jezebel threatened his existence and he fled in fear begging God to take his life. Can you just imagine the mighty, powerful move of God that could've happened had he just remained regardless of the fact that his life was at steak.

Don't be a Jonah, running from the purpose and plans of God just because it doesn't suit you. Hidden in what is causing you misery is the revelation of God's plan for your life and the life of those He has created you to impact.

So stay put, keep your seat in God, learn the lessons and allow Him to be glorified through your life, circumstances and situations because there's no better place to be than in the hands of the potter. Also, remember to "be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8) and "humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time" (1 Peter 5:6).

Do not allow a season of difficulty and challenges to cause you to walk in a lifetime of regret, disobedience and missed opportunities.
