Not just another song nor sweet melody but the posture of the heart laced with sacrifice and determination. Worship goes beyond the four walls of the sanctuary and the praise team. It flows beyond the fruit of our lips and forms the weapons of our warfare that the Bible says are not carnal but might through God to the pulling down of stronghold.
In the book of Acts, we see Paul and Silas thrown into prison however, they did not murmur nor complain but they lifted up their voices at the hour of transaction (midnight) and worshipped in the midst of their situation.
The Bible tells us that suddenly there was a great earthquake that shook the foundations of the prison, and immediately the prison doors were opened and their bands fell off, not just for them but for the other prisoners as well. The impact of our worship stirs up the atmosphere and causes heaven to act on our behalf even in the camp of our enemies.
Our worship is powerful and when we call on heaven for help in our times of despair and agony the Lord of Hosts will answer in a mighty way and not just for you but it causes a ripple effect that disrupts the livelihoods of others around you!
When Job lost everything his response was falling on his face and worshipping God, and he had every reason to be miserable and he had every reason to complain but he didn't because he understood that in the midst of the storm and in the midst of the pain that that is when we must worship more than ever.
Let us move away from only worshipping when things are going good and take on the attitude to worship like never before when we are going through seasons of loss, grief or sorrow- it confuses the enemy and disrupts his plans. May we be strategic and consistent worshippers rather than situation-based worshippers. The King of Glory deserves our worship, and our lives must exude a posture of worship as our worship has impact both in the physical and spiritual.
